ABOUT ME

As a child and teenager I attended dance classes for fun and as an adult continued to enjoy the energy of group exercise.

During my time as a music student, I began practising yoga and meditation to help reduce performance anxiety.

Throughout pregnancies and subsequent juggling of work outside parenthood, the mind-body & spiritual elements of yoga became essential for my overall wellbeing.  Plus, I also just really enjoy the physical movement.

I have been a student of Hatha, Iyengar and Ashtanga teachers, however the  structure of the Ashtanga tradition has been most helpful for me over the last few years, and this is where my practise is rooted.  I spent the last few years regularly assisting my teacher Claire Berghorst,  learning upto the first half of Advanced A/Third series with her.  My practise now moves between series based upon what is working as a medicine for my body, mind and in harmony with energy requirements of householder life.

Originally trained as a classical musician and music therapist, I love integrating music into unique yoga classes and events.  Collaborating on various events with colleagues has resulted in some magical yoga/music alchemy which I am extremely grateful to share with you.

I have composed music, inspired by what I have learned, to accompany yoga and meditation practise and philosophies, some of which you can find here or on Spotify.

My other full time jobs are teaching music and mothering two beautiful children :)
