As a child and teenager I attended dance classes for fun and as an adult continued to enjoy the energy of group exercise. During my time as a music student, I began practising yoga and meditation to help reduce performance anxiety. Throughout pregnancies and as a working mother, increasingly, the mind-body & spiritual elements of yoga became essential for my overall wellbeing and I also just really enjoyed the physical movement. I have been a student of Hatha, Iyengar and Ashtanga teachers, however the structure of the Ashtanga tradition has been most helpful for me over the last few years, and this is where my practise, and study, is now focused. (click here for an overview of the ashtanga system.) I regularly assist my teacher Claire Berghorst.
Originally trained as a classical musician and music therapist, I love integrating music into unique yoga classes and events. Collaborating on events with colleagues and brands such as Lululemon, has resulted in some magical yoga/music alchemy which I am extremely grateful for.I have recently composed music inspired by the chakra system which can be downloaded here and streamed on Spotify
My other jobs are teaching music and mothering two beautiful children :)
